Hmmm....

Posted : 16 years, 7 months ago on 28 August 2007 04:09 (A review of Shadowland (Special Edition))

This was Dark Moor's first CD. When I got this band, I had planned to listen to their stuff in the order they made it, but this CD was accidentally put down as 2005.

On the other two albums, I was amazed by the lead singer's voice, and how he could reach such range. In fact on some of the songs, I thought he sounded like a woman.

When researching this CD, I was surprised to find out that it was a female lead. (I guess that makes my other review's comment about them being a brother band to Nightwish wrong)

This album wasn't as good as their next efforts, but had 3 good songs which are at the top of my....

...5 songs that were better than the others:
Calling On the Wind
Magic Land
Born In the Dark
Shadowland
Flying

Xcellent!

Posted : 16 years, 7 months ago on 24 August 2007 02:40 (A review of Flyleaf)

This is the best Texas band out there that I have ever heard.

The lead singer is female and has a great voice; plus she ACTUALLY SCREAMS in some songs! Which is amazing because I have never heard any other female singer even come close in voice power what this little lady can put out. (she's really short).

The CD is chock full of coolness and great music.
Check out these 5 blastingly sweet songs:
Fully Alive
I'm So Sick
Breathe Today
Cassie
I'm Sorry

SWEETNESS!

This is a super awesome CD that Dark Moor put out... I love the lead singer's unique vocals, and the metal-fantasy stuff. It's just great.

5 tracks that are moor than good:
In Heart of Stone
A New World
Your Symphony
A Truth For Me
Nevermore

Another Review

Posted : 16 years, 7 months ago on 24 August 2007 02:24 (A review of Minutes To Midnight [CD + DVD Special Edition])

Not the same stuff as their other two main albums, (both of which I loved BTW) but great stuff none the less. They definitely have more soft songs similar to "My December", and less hard SCREAMING!

I still can't believe that LP finally broke down and put profanity in their songs, it totally ruins good music to hear someone dropping the f-bomb every chorus. However, I personally edited "Bleed It Out" and "Given Up", removing all trace of the offensive words and they are my faves.

(I simply deleted the "Hand Held High" I can't stand that trash against our country's leader)

This album would have been perfect without "Hand Held High" and "In Between", in which Mike's singing I can't stand. He's a good rapper and should stick to what he's good at.

THESE 5 TRACKS I LOVE!:
Given Up (edited)
Bleed It Out (edited)
What I've Done
In Pieces
No More Sorrow

P.S. The last guy said there were only 3 good songs, if so, why did he rate it a 7/10?!

P.P.S. There's bonus track on iTunes called "No More Roads" it's alright.

A few good ones...

Posted : 16 years, 7 months ago on 24 August 2007 01:49 (A review of Thankful)

Let's put it straight out from the start, I hate bad female pop. The ones where they have a slow beat going in the back and the lead has moans and sighs combined with slow singing. "Uhhhhhh..."

Most of the songs were like that, and so I deleted the bad ones and 5 were left, which was good, because then I can put my "5 Faves" in this review.

Miss Independent and Just Missed The Train were the best ones out of this album, so of course I put them at the top. You Thought Wrong was just 'okay', I really didn't like it that much. All the ones except for these five are bad IMO, but if you like them than that's fine.

The best 5 of this album:
Miss Independent
Just Missed the Train
Low
Beautiful Disaster
You Thought Wrong

Okay

Posted : 16 years, 7 months ago on 24 August 2007 01:05 (A review of My December)

I must say, with that cool looking album cover I was expecting alot more.
Most of the songs were about betrayal and anger, which is kind of sad.

I don't know if anyone else noticed this, but all the songs names were from other artist's songs, even the album name was.

I'll list them here for ya'll to see:
My December (album name) - Linkin Park
Never Again - Nickelback
One Minute - Mary Mary
Hole - L'Arc~en~Ciel
Sober - Tool
Don't Waste Your Time - Babyface
Judas - Depeche Mode
Haunted - Evanescence
Be Still - Backstreet Boys
Maybe - Secondhand Serenade
How I Feel - Brandy
Yeah - Usher
Can I have a Kiss - The Isley Brothers

Chivas\Irvine is the only original title she came up with.. maybe...

I haven't found another artist with this.
The others may be just coincidence, but I doubt it.

5 tracks that are better:
Never Again
Don't Waste Your Time
Judas
Haunted
Sober

Chase the good album.

Posted : 16 years, 7 months ago on 22 August 2007 04:15 (A review of Chase the Sun)

This was probably my first favorite band.

I love all the songs on here, and listening to it now brings back memories of when I was young. I didn't even realize they rapped some of the verses.

5 Best Tracks which were hard to pick out from this barrel of goodness:
One Voice
Grounded
Fade Away
Sure Shot
Health and Wealth

Bad

Posted : 16 years, 7 months ago on 14 August 2007 08:51 (A review of Transform)

Read the song titles, now imagine someone just yelling that over and over again for a chorus of a song. That's pretty much what this CD is all about. Mindless yelling, not singing, to heavy guitars and drums.

Only 3 songs worth at least a good listen are:
Theme To A Fake Revolution
Action
Top of the World

Keep this cd?
No thanks...

Only Nobody's real and World's Collide are good songs on this CD, the others are all bad.

Well, Watch the Sky For Me was okay.
