Knock & The Door Will Be Opened

Posted : 15 years, 7 months ago on 4 September 2008 08:58 (A review of The Open Door)

This CD is a great follow-up to Evanescence's hit album Fallen, complete with soaring tunes and a perfect blend of guitars, vocals, & (my favorite)the choir pieces.

I didn't enjoy the entire CD as much as Fallen, but there are definitely some great tracks on here... a couple I didn't like as much were Snow White Queen (why does everyone like that one?), Like You, & Good Enough.

I wonder when their next album will release and what it will hold...

Please Welcome our 5 Favorite Songs:
Call Me When You're Sober
Weight of the World
Lithium
Sweet Sacrifice
The Only One

Her Winter Storm

Posted : 15 years, 11 months ago on 30 May 2008 08:26 (A review of My Winter Storm (Special Edition) (Bonus Dvd))

Tarja's solo career is off to a great start, with My Winter Storm boosting it along quite aways.

When I first heard of this CD after the Nightwish break-up, I was thinking it was going to be just a vocal album, with muted instruments in the background, or maybe a pop-ish album, like so many other female vocalists have done when going solo.

But instead, Tarja brought the Nightwish sound with her. Electric guitar solos, symphonic tunes, and large choruses with background vocals all accompanied her voice very well, as they had done with her in Nightwish.

5 Tracks That Walk Alone (In a good sense):
1: I Walk Alone
2: Poison
3: Lost Northern Star
4: Sing For Me
5: Die Alive

So Good, Should Be Called "Risen"

Posted : 15 years, 12 months ago on 1 May 2008 07:44 (A review of Fallen)

This is simply an outstanding album.

I can't say enough how greatly Evanescence's 2nd album attempt has succeeded.

The lyrics are super, and
even have more to offer if you look into them closely. The music is thrilling, with perfect harmonic melodies and swooping surges. Lacey's vocals are so full of emotion, and are especially soulful on my favorite My Immortal.

It's no wonder it took three years to complete this masterpiece.

Bring Me to Everybody's Favorite 5:
My Immortal
Bring Me To Life
Everybody's Fool
Hello
Whisper

P.S. I was surprised no one had posted a review for this yet.

Game Review: By the Uru Guru

Posted : 16 years ago on 14 April 2008 10:12 (A review of Uru: Ages Beyond Myst)

What a stupid idiotic game. First of all the graphics are poor, the make-your-own character bonus is nothing special and your person looks cheesy.
The gameplay is horrible, even though it has a 'better' third-person feature, you can get stuck on the slightest imperfection in the wall and it's horribly impossible to change direction quickly, which is vital in the timed places. The music was okay, mostly just a slightly altered reproduction of the previous releases.
The puzzles were difficult to figure out, and as I said before, with this gameplay, the timed ones were a nightmare of tries and re-tries.

To Sum Up: Only get this game if you want to spend hours frustrated over and over again at each puzzle that comes along.

My Advice: Get the first 3 original games.

This might go UVER your head, but...

Posted : 16 years ago on 5 April 2008 03:15 (A review of Timeless)

Despite the weird Bear\Bat\Mouse? thingy on the album cover, I liked this album better than their 2007 one. Of course D-technoLife is my all-time favorite track by them, but there were some other good tracks.

I don't know why the rest of the tracks besides my fave 5 were on the album, cuz they stunk like spoiled sake and were deleted promptly.

FAVE 5 tRacKs f-rom ALBum:
D-tecnoLife
Burst
CHANCE!
SE
D-tecnoLife (album version)

P.S. I don't know if that last one really counts, it's just a different version of the top song.

Bugright? What does that even mean?

Posted : 16 years ago on 4 April 2008 03:36 (A review of Bugright)

Alright, this is my first album I heard by these guys. This one was not all bad but most of their songs sound horrible.

Of course their lyrics are in Japanese but I don't have a problem with that.

5 tracks that didn't bug me:
Colors of the Heart
Live Everyday as if it were the last day
Shamrock
Lifesize

I Brought Bullets, You Bring Some Asprin

Posted : 16 years, 2 months ago on 27 February 2008 10:44 (A review of I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love)

No matter how many times I listen to this album, all the songs after "Vampires Will Never Hurt You" sound way too similar for my liking.
One of the main reasons I love My Chemical Romance is because of their unique sounds and styles on "Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge" and "The Black Parade".

At first, listening to the album I only like the instrumental "Romance", but after listening to the others over and over again "Honey..." and "Vampires..." joined as the highlights of the album. The other tracks are merely okay and I could care less about.

The 5 Tracks I got to like:
Romance
Vampires Will Never Hurt You
Honey, This Mirror Isn't Big Enough for the Two of Us
Drowning Lessons
Headfirst for Halos
